Performance Project EXPANDED

Physical Theatre Performance Project 2026

The Performance Project Expanded is more than a typical theatre course or a classic performance project: it is a theatre-making journey culminating in a performance-showing of original work. At the same time, it is a dynamic environment designed for those looking for a deep and impactful approach beyond traditional schools: from professional performers to theatre enthusiasts without a specific experience. Important is the wish to engage deeply in a group process with artistic guidance, curiosity, readiness and engagement.

Over the span of the project, you will receive a comprehensive introduction to Transdisciplinary Physical Theatre, along with practical tools for performance and production — from psychophysical training and research to concept development and staging.

At the same time, you will create an original performance (based on a previous text or topic) supported by the guidance of two experienced directors, who have different but complementary approaches. You will have the opportunity to experiment and experience, take creative risks, discover talents of what you were maybe unaware of, and develop your own performative material. All this within a process where artistic vision, technique, and collaboration intersect to produce a compelling and transformative theatre experience.

Who is this course for?

The Performance Project Expanded is open to participants with or without previous experience. Both academically trained artists and self-taught practitioners from any discipline – acting, dance, circus, music, visual arts – are welcome, as well as those without performing arts experience who come with curiosity and motivation.

We deeply value the richness of this mix. Over the years, we have seen how the encounter between different paths generates a living, mutual learning experience: professionals are refreshed, beginners dare — and often surprise. Here, it is not your prior experience that defines your place in the process, but your presence, your commitment, and your willingness to be moved by the work.

• Sliding Scale: It is important to us that this course remains as accessible as possible to people with lower incomes. At the same time, for this to be sustainable, a balance is needed:
Upper end of the scale: for those who are able to meet their basic needs and have additional financial flexibility to afford smaller or larger wishes.
Middle range: for those who can comfortably cover their basic needs but have limited financial room beyond that. Participation may involve a sacrifice, but remains manageable.
Lower end of the scale: for those for whom meeting basic needs is a real challenge, and for whom participating in the course represents a significant financial strain.
If you are unsure where to place yourself, or have questions about the sliding scale, please feel free to get in touch with us.
